MEN

Peasant men always wore short and tight clothing which consisted of breeches made of leather, a tight tunic or doublets, and brown woolen capes or cloaks. Purses were carried as there were no pockets in their clothing. Tunics were short and 2 were worn at the same time made of undyed wool. A belt was placed around the waist so their tools, purse, or belt could be hung and easily available.

Upper class Men wore long tunics over loose trousers. Tabards and Surcoats were covered with full length cloaks. These cloaks could be trimmed with fur and pinned at the shoulder with a broach. Shoes were made of silk, velvet, leather and had a buckle to fasten them. When one went outside they covered them with wood and leather overshoes. Their hats were caps with a point at the front.
