Peasants enjoyed pork that they raised because they were cheap to keep. They also enjoyed mutton, and used the blood of a sheep to make black pudding which many ate. This was made from the sheep blood, milk, fat, onions and oatmeal.

Trout and salmon were for the Upper Class only, however Dace, Grayling, and Gudgeon could be caught from a nearby river and eaten by all, if the Lord of the Land gave permission to do so. Geese, Pheasant, Swan, Peacock were eaten by the upper class, while Chicken, and Duck were eaten by Peasants.

Both enjoyed Beef which could not be sold by butchers unless at least 3 people had seen it alive prior. Rabbit meat was eaten by all, while Pork and Beef were usually enjoyed by the upper class, as well as smoked, dried, or salted cod and herring. Both Salt and Freshwater fish were also enjoyed by all found in the rivers, streams and ponds in the area.

Deer, Boar, Rabbits, though they lived in the woods near the villages, could not be hunted unless they had permission from the Lord of the Land. It could result in having one's hands cut off if they were caught. Many in the village, though were able to hunt hedgehods and squirrels.
